A variant of the German Shepherd Dog, the Shiloh Shepherd was developed in the U.S. by Tina Barber, who devoted herself to breeding the massive, square-bodied type of Shepherd she remembered from her childhood in Germany. The breed was accepted by the American Rare Breed Association in 1991.
The Shiloh is easily trained, intelligent, steady and bold. Though ready to protect those in his care, he can be sweet and loving with those he knows.
The alert, strong and well-muscled dog likes and requires lots of outdoor exercise and activity. |
